📖 Matthew 7:22–23 says - “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!’”
This is one of the most terrifying verses in the Bible.
Jesus isn’t speaking to atheists, criminals, or mockers of the faith. He’s talking to people who prophesied, cast out demons, and performed miracles — in His name. These weren’t unbelievers. These were people involved in ministry, people who spoke boldly, prayed powerfully, and walked in spiritual authority. And yet… He says, “I never knew you.”
Many ministries begin in fire — with purity, humility, and total dependence on the Holy Spirit. There’s prayer. There’s reverence. There’s hunger. But slowly, subtly, the attention shifts. The crowd grows. The name gets known. And before long, it’s not about Jesus anymore — it’s about our image, our brand, our legacy.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t leave suddenly. But when He’s no longer honored, when pride replaces purity, when performance replaces prayer — His presence quietly departs.
And people continue. Preaching, Building ministries. All without Him.
📖 John 15:6 warns us “If you do not remain in Me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers.”
These verse isn’t meant to scare you into silence — it’s meant to call you back into intimacy. God isn’t impressed with platforms. He’s looking for obedience, humility, and a heart that says, “Not my will, but Yours.”
Even if your church is empty, even if your ministry feels small — stay faithful. Stay pure. Stay known in heaven.
Because on that day, the only thing that will matter is not how many people knew your name… but whether Jesus knows you.
